We have a few old Laserjet 1000 printers, all working perfectly after many years. What isn't working perfectly is HP, who for whatever reason have not released (and almost definitely won't) drivers which work with Windows 7 64bit. There are a lot of annoyed customers out there many of whom have opted to trash a perfectly good printer because of HP's failure to support. I've tried everything I've been able to locate using internet search engines in an attempt to make Windows 7 64-bit print to an HP Laserjet 1000 that is connected to an XP machine in my home workgroup. Of course, I can print just fine from an XP machine in the same workgroup. But not from Windows 7 64-bit. I have been able to install the Laserjet 1000 XP drivers and print from virtual XP Mode. Works just fine.
