Canon Mg3100 Scanner Driver there. Hello everyone I need to know the procedure to try a hard reset on my printer 'HP Deskjet F4580 All-in-One Printer' has been malfunctioning for a few days due to an unspecified reason. Now turned on, loads a sheet in half, and stays constantly waiting. Even canceling the current operation with the x (erase) key expires the sheet and loads another by repeating the same thing. I did various tests but nothing to do, the printer is disconnected from the computer, I tried to disconnect the plug and change power socket, leave it detached for a while, nothing to do, it seems like a software jam. Years ago a hp technician made me a procedure on another printer, which allow me a hard reset, disconnect the current, press 'power button and delete button' together and then turn on the power again and only after leaving the buttons for That printer worked. I need to know how to do it to unlock it and / or reset, thank you to anyone who can help me.
Hi, Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community! I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I understand you are looking to perform a Hard reset on the printer.
Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue. Let's start off by performing a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Remove USB cable, if present. Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge. Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle. I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer.
