Hello, We are building a Windows 7 SOE for a large company that supports numerous models of hp laptops. Each of these laptops comes with a fingerprint reader and we would like to use the built in fingerprint reader support (Biometric Devices) that is in windows 7. The models that we are supporting are as follows: • HP 6910p • HP 6930p • HP 8510w • HP 8530w We attempted using the Authentec fingerprint drivers (aes2501a) found on hp's website but after installation, the biometric device option did not appear in windows 7. After installing the driver from windows update, the biometric device option did appear as hp said.
