Install Xp On Hp Compaq T5000 Series
A google on 'hp t5000 linux' turned up some Debian and Ubuntu success stories but couldn't find any EL info. It would be a stretch (or a squeeze) and you could at best expect do a minimal install in text mode unless adding more storage.
Hello, i bought a couple days ago a few thin clients from somebody. These has still their password on it for entering the bios. All thins are from the T5000 series. Dous anyone know how to remove this password? / or clear all setting to default? - i searched for a reset jumper, but didnt found it.
Only one jumper is near the audio output, but i guess that isnt the one i'm searching for. - kept out CMOS battery for a few minutes, didnt help (maybe i must take it out longer?) thanks in advance, S Drosaert. Hello stefandrossaert, Normally, just removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes will reset the BIOS to the default settings.
I have read where it can take several minutes before you reinsert the battery. Since these series are getting a little age on them, it might be worth replacing these CMOS batteries, especially if these systems have been out of service for a while. Follow UP, What I have concluded is that HP offers the t5000 in about 4 different flavors. I want to think the only difference is the OS that ships with the system. The version that I have is the t5520 and ships with Windows CE installed on a 64m flash. Driver Printer Hp Deskjet 3920 Untuk Windows 7. I downloaded the util to create the Linux image that ships with t5515, its a 32meg footprint. The system let me install the image, and boot. I get an HP logo screen and a scrollbar that just finishes and then the system just starts flashing the logo image 'entire screen', about.5 seconds on and 1 second off. If I hit 'ESC' I can see the Startup details,:-? Last line of the load reads 'got silent jpeg.' Keystrokes don't seem to interpreted, but the keys do show up during the off cycle of the blink. If you do decide to attempt to install [i]CentOS[/i], you should be able to obtain valuable system information from the OS you currently have running.
